Yikes ...... the scratching and maintenance side of things vs. carpet ? ..... no thanks.
Looks good in a museum but not on my boat! (don't tell my wife ...... she wants new hardwood floors in the kitchen ... I am thinking snap-able carpet myself ;)

Wow!!! Imagine having to maintain an entire floor as opposed to just a swim platform.... I'll stick with carpet....

Hallett has been putting teak and holly floors into their boats for decades. Even before the Paragon. It looks cool, but still requires snap in carpet, as the wood gets hot, hot, hot! The carpet also helps protect it a little.

I wondered about that. You think those guys that did your platform would do a feaux foam teak floor?

I do not see any reason why not. It might be a bit costly, but probably comparable to teak.

Except not as hot on the feets and maintenance free. What's the life under foot of that stuff?

They said it has been lasting in an outdoor environment for 5 years.

Actually this guy used a product called Fiber floor. (http://www.tarkettna.com/Default.aspx?tabid=99&sku=01191#)
If you look at the spec sheet, it say that it is ideal for humid installation

I think so too. It sets off the wood a bit more than the red.

As cool as it looks, I think I'd stick to carpet. I think it would be slippery on bare feet, hot, more maintenance...
I get it when it come to having a sweet old classic show boat, but I have to question the functionality. Love the look of that Paragon, tho'.
