The black rubber mat on the fiberglass platform rubs off a black hue to the touch. Is there a sealant anyone knows of to protect the rubber from doing this? If I don't get it fixed, there will be many a bathing suit casualty this summer. thanks

I am in the process of replacing every piece of OEM rubber on my boat with this (http://www.seadek.com)

They have a template for the X-star. Product is awesome and pretty local to you. I will be doing a complete write-up on everything in a few weeks.

Sodar, thanks for posting the link and stuff. I knew there was another mfg out there but couldn't find it in or for placement in my bookmarks.

No problem, bud!

This stuff is really, really cool.

It is all CNC'ed, so anything and everything can be routed into it. (ie. No Shoes, No Step, Boat Name). The guys are really cool and when I am done, they will have all the fender pads for the newer tandem axle trailers, the driver's footwell pad for the X-7/197 and the swim platform pad for the X-7/197. I can't wait to get everything and start installing! I looked at a Malibu at the boat show that had the product and it felt so nice compared to the stuff that MC used. MC is also using the product on the new X-25 in certain spots.

Also, try here for some non-skid decals for the platform, http://www.inboardonline.com/accessories/decals.html

Is there something wrong with the footwell pad in your boat? Is the 07 and 08 footwell pad different?

Why didn't you go with teak on the platform?

Why didn't you go with teak on the platform?

I have both.

I like the white 'glass platform better and I use it when we are just hanging out and doing little, if any skiing. If I know we are going to be doing a ton of skiing or boarding I throw the teak on there because it can be fixed much easier than the 'glass one.

would this stuff be good to use on the trailer steps?

That's what I am using it for. Trailer Pads, Swim Platform and Driver's Footwell.

My 2007 is perfect? Since my boat is garaged it may be UV damage that is causing the failure on your platform. Is there any preventative maintenance you can suggest? Replacment has to be labor intensive....
