What speed do ski at? I'm 165, ski at 32-34 MPH, and use a 66" O'Brien Synchro. You'll also need to decide between double boots or rear-toe plate.

I'm 5'8" and around 190 lb. and I ski a 68" F1X. If I were any taller I'd probably go up to a 69".

I kid.............I'm still trying to figure out what height has to do with ski size.

Not sure of speed since all my skiing has been in someone elses boat with their combo skis and have advanced to some good cuts and rear foot has slipped in toe plate and knew when I have my own I'll want to get good with a double boot. Speed was always up dn via hand signal and how I felt. I know snow ski sizes and effect but not sure how shorter or longer will turn on h2o ect. I know snow skis have gone shorter than we rode in the 90's alot to do with shape and the 190's I used to ski sure seem long to the 170 but turn great in the bumps. I just don't want to buy my first equip. and be wrong... Gonna try to barrow or ski some others and size at CSM if anyone will share:)

what size foot do you have? I've got a couple F1X skis that you could try at CSM and willing to let them go at a good price

6'2" 210lbs and still using my 1988 Kidder! It is a bit small 67". But like you it works and I dont know the differnce. I got it in grade school and have not tried anything else.

This may not be the best advise!

about 10 years ago i bought a pair of IConn combos just for friends/family to ski on. they were a little expensive for combo skis but well worth it. they were a mid-wide body design and one used for a slalom was perfect for beginner-intermediate sking. very good quality and everybody loved them. might want to go that route and save $ by having skis that work for everybody.

taller the person, usually means more weight, wich a longer ski = more surface area, easier to come out of the hole???? maybe:confused:
