I was going to do mine this weekend, but think I'll hold off until next weekend. The beginning of April seems like a good time to do it, as the lows at night don't seem to be getting below freezing, yet the highs during the day can climb to nearly 80 (with low humidity). Seems to me like it's good enough to drain the anti-freeze and button everything back up and take it out. Will just have to drain the water out at night and un-button all the hoses until early May. I'm in Northern VA (Spotsylvania, VA - Lake Anna).

What time of the year do you guys de-winterize, where do you live/boat at, and what's your preferred plan of action to take? Try to do it ASAP so you can ski/foot, and just drain the water after every use until the temps start to get better? Or do you just wait until the lows at night don't go below 45 or 50? Just curious...:)

Never have to......live in the southwest.....the plan is to get to the lake before everyone else.

I summerize as soon as I'm sure the temps won't go below 32.

Been starting the boat Mid-march.
Letting it run on the garden hose making sure the temp comes up and no leaks.Fired right up this year no problems
Wanted to take it out today for a water test ,but the weather is to crappy.
I can put her back in garage so don't have to worry about freezeing. The garage gets down to about 45-50

Same here, usually around april 10th or so. We got 6" of snow around april 6th 2003 but the temps hovered around 32 that day. I'm shooting for april 11th to splash the boat this year. :D

Usually wait until May. Weather is too unpredictable before then.

I usually wait till the end of April, first of May. The weather out here can be wacky till then! Besides, no one but me will get into the water till mid May.

I think it is something you have to do when you live where you can't use your boat 12 months a year. I wouldn't know.

Drop in the water whenever you have a warm day and the water looks good.

When you are done, take 15 minutes to drain the block, heater, and shower, and run some AF through the heater, shower and ballast.

That way you can use your boat a few times before it stops freezing at night, and a few more sets in the Fall as well.

Middle of April here. Sledding early morning up at 1800 meters elevation and skiing in the afternoon down in the valley at 300 meters

I did mine in early April this year. Here in WI that would be considered early. I figured winter was over when we were getting 70 degree temps pretty regularly. Woke up yesterday morning (May 8) to six inches of snow. Had to get up in the middle of the night tonight to check the temp in the garage. Exactly 32 at 5 AM. Should be good. I might juat have to insulate and heat the garage next year. Then not worry about it at all.

I'm going to sumerize this week, but we had snow a day or two ago. We can see snow well into June, but the temps generally stay above 29 degrees from now until October.
