Goo Gone.. and maybe a plastic razor blade to get it started.. unless you are super careful with a metal one.

I just got done removing and replacing all the decals on my 190. I used a hair dryer and a plastic putty knife. Before you use the putty knife make sure to file the corners round so it will not dig in and scratch the gel coat. :eek3: Heat the decal, use the putty knife to lift the corner of the decal up and peel it. It was very easy and painless.

Good luck!

I was looking on boats dot com today and saw the same year as mine, with no stickers... It looked good too. I'm taking mine off (as I also prepare to buff it out this fall) this weekend just for a different look.

Here's the boat I liked without stickers. But what has caught my eye even more is the very nice trailer. I'm really liking that!!

plastic scraper, and some goof off to remove the residue. I've used this combo on many boats and cars in the past, make sure the surface is clean first.

thanks for the info guys i will take pics thru the process its probably won't happen until the end of summer because i'll have to buff the entire boat out after i remove them, and i hate that more than anything else.

Just looks to me like it needs some stars, and letters too

I would recommend staying away from scraping the decals off. Doing that can cause more damage to the surface than what it's worth.

The best way to do it is to use a striping tool. 3M makes one they call "Stripe Off Wheel". I've attempted to include a link to 3M's product page for this.

3M Sripe Off Wheel (http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/!ut/p/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLN4g3dDEFSYGYxkAWmp AjhoixC0TI2A0uYgkRsXSFiTh7QUTMTELgQh4YQpbuGIYbuoZB xfzMEGIhmOqcwxBivh75uan6Qal58aHB-t76AfoFuaEwEFHu6KgIALDvLfo!/delta/base64xml/L0lDU0lKQ1RPN29na2tBISEvb0lvUUFBSVFnakZJQUFRaENFSV FqR0EhLzRKRmlDbzBlaDFpY29uUVZHaGQtLzdfMF83TVY!?PC_ 7_0_7MV_root=GST1T4S9TCgv&PC_7_0_7MV_output=html&PC_7_0_7MV_bgel=TZSW869DZ7bl&PC_7_0_7MV_gvel=62QWM928KWgl&PC_7_0_7MV_vroot=CX2WXLSHJ7ge&PC_7_0_7MV_node=GS30B7L45Kgs&PC_7_0_7MV_theme=us_attachmenttapes_portal_3_0&PC_7_0_7MV_command=AbcPageHandler)

You should be able to purchase one of these at an autobody supply store. The same stores that sell auto paints to the body shops.

This tool will remove the vinyl and glue at once and will not harm the boat's surface. This is the absolute best way to remove the decals. It may be a bit more pricey, but it will help insure you don't cause more problems by gouging into the surface of your beloved boat.

If anyone with a 92 or 93 Prostar 205 who is removing decals previously bought a spare set of "Prostar 205" rear side decals and now never plans to use them, I'll be happy to take them off your hands for you.
