Can someone tell me the key differences between the 205V and the 210 VRS in the 2000-2002 timeframe. I have searched and can't find anything. It is hard to tell from pictures what the differences are. It seems to me they have same engine, trans, and very similar interiors. Is the hull different? I know the 205V is the same as the XStar/X1, but have not seen that said about the 210VRS, so that leads me to believe that the hulls are different.

Insight anyone?

210 VRS is totally different hull

205V, Current X-1, old X-2 and Xstar where all the same Hull

210 VRS, X-10 and and DD 209/X-9 DD where the same hull

210 is a wider longer boat than the 205V

Hope this helps

The 205V is a ProStar hull, very flat bottom design for an awesome ski wake. This is the same hull as the current X-1 which makes for an AWESOME wakeboard boat with ballast. The 205V is a very good all around boat, I have three buddies that each have one so I spend a lot of time behind this particular boat.

The 210 is a MariStar hull. This is more of a modified V hull which has a smoother ride in rough water than the 205V, it is also wider creating more space. Both boats have the same passanger rating but the 210 has more actual space inside. The ski wake and wakeboard wake are not as nice as the 205V with the smoother ride being the trade off. I've never skied a 210 but with some ballast it has a very nice wakeboard wake, I still prefer the 205V wake but I would never turn down a set behind the 210. With ballast the 210 has a better surf wake.

Hope this helps give you an idea of the differences. Both are incredible all around boats IMO.

Thanks Jim.
What are the wake differences in the two?

Thanks... That is exactly what I needed.

My Maristar 200VRS has the same hull as the 210 VRS that you're looking at.

The Waterski wake is poor, especially in the 26-30 mph range that non-serious waterskiiers like to go at. It flattens out quite a bit at higher speeds, but my waterskiing buddies (who are used to a '94 PS190) still don't like it.

As a family boat, the Maristar is a great boat. Lots of interior room, lots of storage (I joke that I could smuggle a dozen illegal's across the border in the various boat compartments, and nobody would know), and a relatively good ride for a boat with waterski aspirations (Boston Whaler is not quaking in their boots about the Maristar's choppy water ride).

Here's the wake my V210 makes when I do Smuggle Illegal's across the lake...

The waterski wake is quite good if you add a wake plate. It transforms the boat into a great all-round machine. I'm really happy with the way it works. Search the forum for details.
