I have replaced every hose so I know there is nothing obstructing the flow of water and still it isnt working!!!
I am sure its on correctly, but I have a feeling its a bad pump.
Some people have told me that those pumps dont go bad!!!..but I've read a ton of stuff on people replacing them...so needless to say.
I'm confused.
PLEASE!!! Someone help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

Probably a stupid question, but have you inspected/replaced the impeller in the raw water pump?

Other than the impeller, shaft bushings and seals, I don't know what else there is to go bad. I believe a new pump is over $200.
The screw on the side of the pump should be on the side of the pump that points towards the center of the boat.
The fact that you had parts of the impeller in the transmission oil cooler indicates that it is pumping backwards.
Also, Is the belt tight?

We just had to replace the impeller housing piece. Went bad after 900 hours. B

Jim,
How do I get the right zerk fitting for my steering cable. It is a 93 S&S and the zerk at the back, under the gas tank area, broke. We can't find the other half of it yet but it is defitenly a smaller zerk than the others. Our dealer keeps sending us the wrong size. B

OK, I stand corrected. Keep in mind, his engine is a PCM, not a Indmar.

Yeah, impeller is fine..just not pumping water. The pump is on correctly as well.
I had no other choice but to buy a new pump. Here is DFW they were $350
..But i got ahold of J.A. Chamberlain, Inc. and bought the entire set up ready to go for $177 shipped and it is original sherwood equipment. Jack Chamberlain is a great guy & part owner and I ordered it from him direct and saved major cash.

Its simple mechanics and I've checks/ replaced EVERYTHING other than the pump itself.
I'll let you all know Monday when I get the part in...I will be boatless yet again another weekend. :(

I am sure you already checked, but be sure there isn't an obstruction in the cooler itself.

i'd agree with powerslot, that looks like an impeller that is been run dry. I don't think h2o is getting to the pump.

Not meant to be a cheap shot. Just wanted to make sure Liquidfire got the right water pump.
People tend to forget that our older boats have the PCM engines.
I do like how Indmar dosent have a belt driving the pump, one less thing to replace.
I am willing to bet a beer that at one time, the pump was mounted backwards. How elese can impeller parts get to the cooler?

You have installed your PCM pump upside down
The PCM pump can be reinstalled 180 out. Reverse the pump and
problem solved. Mark your pump with a arrow showing up next time
you remove the pump. Guranteed this is the problem

Take the hose off of the raw water intake and stick it in a bucket/cooler/etc filled with water. See if it is blowing bubbles. I'm with Jim, you've got it on backwards. It's easy to do.

Nope, the pump is on correct and was when I bought it. The cam screw is facing the engine and that is the correct way it should sit. I have been told several times to pay attention and I am 100% sure it is on correctly. The pump is bad.

Just for sanity sake pull the hose from the raw water intake at the back of the boat and stick into a bucket full of water and see if it blows bubbles.

Isnt the pulley attached by an hex head fastener? I seem to remember mine was or is it pressed on?
