Any help decoding this HIN

U - 6.0 1:1 - 6.0L 1:1 transmission? Chevy or Ford?
S - Sportstar - Could someone verify S?
CA8 - Specific serial number?
H - Boat was made in August?
7 - Boat was made in 1997?
98 - Boat is a 1998 model?
How can I tell engine size 305 vs 350?

Position 4 U= 6.0 1:1,
Position 5 = Boat type A= PS190, B= PS190TT, C=PS197TT, X=PS197, T=PS209, V=MS230, U=MS210, L=X-Star, H=MS280, 2=PS205V Don't know about 'S'
Positions 6,7 and 8 Sequential serial number (never repeated in a model year)
Position 9 = Month made A=JAN, B=FEB, C=MAR, D=APR, E=MAY, F=JUN, G=JUL, H=AUG, I=SEP, J=OCT, K=NOV, L=DEC
Position 10 = Year made
Positions 11 & 12 = Model Year
In your example the boat was made in '97 but is a '98 model

I have very limited experience, but the PS 205 I just bought has an S in this position.
