Just bought a 1980 mastercraft stars and stripes with original pcm engine. 255hp?

Primary use will be barefooting.

What is the best prop for barefooting?
3 or 4 blade

What is the gear ratio of the transmission, 1:1 or PowerSlot?

Go directly to the man that knows, Eric Johnson @ http://www.ojprops.com/contact_us or contact him by pm, EJ OJPROP, http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/member.php?u=1537
Be prepared to give him any info he may need like, current prop info off the hub, the current altitude you use the boat at, baseline numbers of the speeds and RPM's for the current prop, boat model and year, engine size, transmission ratio, function (skiing, barefooting, surfing, boarding, tubing, etc.), ballast use, fuel load, gear, nominal # of passengers, etc. He will need it to determine the best prop for your application.

TMC#1, I'd say your about 34 minutes late on this one.
Need to wake up a little earlier :)

1:1 Transmission 13 x 13 3 or 4 blade

Possibly for a minimal amount of additional top end with a 13 x 14. You will also loose a minimal amount of hole shot What you are looking for is TOP END You may max out at 45 - 46 MPH

Haha, I read this thread as I was heading out the door at 4am. :D
I doubt if Harold wants to wake up that early.

Hey barefootjoe, I'll go footin' with you if you're close by. ;)

I think your best bet is a 3 blade CNC. I've been happy with my Acme 541.

I was reading the posts and not seeing the posters and the fact Eric had already addressed the question. Well, I'll just have to go and sit in time out. 4am, no way, I just started getting warm and was dreaming of the water lapping on the boat hull from a cool summer breeze.

It is a velvet drive 1:1 model 10-17-001

The engine is PLD WR L10 and has a holley 4bL carb.

I would start with our 13 X 11.5 LC 1" 3-blade.

After reading various threads and talking to dealer reps, I have decided on the Acme 541.

ACME 541 is supposed to be one of the best upgrades you can get on your S & S. I just ordered my ACME 541 today. I can get it at a discounted price for you if you are interested. PM me if you are and have not already ordered one.
