View Full Version : Post prop re-build wake

I bent my prop up so I sent it to OJ and they repaired it, but now my wake is different. Before the prop disaster we had a very little wake when skiing, but now even at 35 mph we have a dip then a decent sized wake that we pretty much jump over. I don't like it. The boat is a 99' 205 V with a 14 x 20 OJ prop. I realize I won't get as flat of a wake as a DD, but I had to compromise with the wife for the room and I do a little wakeboarding. I thought last year and even this year the wake was weak for a v-drive & wakeboarding, but now I have an awesome wakeboarding wake, but a terrible slalom wake. I did notice that when I took the prop off it didn't take me the 50 ft lbs that I re-installed with. Can I do anything to get a flatter wake is the real question? OJ is sending me a trial prop to see if I like it or not.

My experience with CNC'd props is that they will flatten out the slalom wake a bit. You'll probably be really pleased with your new prop. Keep us posted.
