There is a course on the Fox River near Johnsburg (south of Pistakee Lake) it's quite shallow - but its a course and the water off in this area is usually very good. It's maintained by the skiers that use it on a regular basis. It's open to all, but as a courtesy to the homes in the area there is no skiing until 8AM. Most boats (except inboards) can't get back in the area. We do struggle with waverunners on occasion who of course have no concept of rollers and respect.

Ley me know if you would like additional directions

There is a group of us that ski at a lake near Freeport, IL; private lake, course, jump.

It is in northern IL, west of Rockford about 30 min. It is a bit of a drive if you are in west Chicago, but there are a couple of guys that live in St. Charles that frequent the lake and they don't seem to mind.

Give me an email for more details. [email protected]

There are two in St. Charles on the river.
Would a couple rookies from further North be able to use the slalom courses on Saturday morning? Would we be intruding?

If you used the one further north on the river, then it wouldn't be a problem. There are a good number of footers on the water in the early am that would probably get mad if you used the course that is right in the middle section.

So I think you would be fine it you came to STC.

Couldn't get to the river this weekend, lake skied instead. I'll try again next weekend.
