Well, we did our annual boys trip to Lake Rini in Clermont last week. All in all not a bad year.....Matt Rini was, as always a great host and awesome coach.
Not the greatest weather, but for a guy who hadn't skied in 3 months i am happy with the results. It's amazing what a few days with Matt can do for your skiing.

You know......waterskiing is one of those rare sports where you can just as easily ski with the Womens World Champion as you can with your wally neighbor....:D:D:D....
ok maybe not....but she does rock!
Whitney McClintock..................

I didn't really take a really close look at the Strada but it didn't seem oversized or shaped like my HO S1. It is wider in the front than say a Monza but all the skis seem to be,these days. Matt was riding a 66 Strada with the new Strada boots. The boots are amazing. Two of our group bought them this trip. They are a new improved rs-1 boot.
I think it is just the camera angle that makes the ski look bigger than usual.....
He had one there for me to try but when you only have 6 days, the last thing you want to do is change up another variable. Besides the S1 is really treating me well, so far.
Whitney said that she loves the new Strada. Much quicker than her rs-1 and more forgiving in the turns. She said it was an easy ski to switch to.

Yeah.. I think you're right about the newer skis being wider in the tip area for more hookup coming out of the turn.

Thanks guys, it was a good time. Whitney and Matt are great people to ski with. We had met Whitney in past years skiing with Matt. If you are ever in Orlando give him a shout for a set or two, you won't regret it. www.mattrini.com You also never know who will be there to ski with you....Whitney, Jason McClintock, Chris Rossi, Ryan Dodd, Thomas Moore, Karina Nolan, etc
It's always pretty chill and it's an awesome ski site.

Andre, we worked on what else but......gates!
Matt got me to bring my right hip up and forward to my right(back)arm, at the pullout. Also focused on putting a little more weight on the rear foot, again right at pullout. It seemed backwards to everything that i had been taught about stayed balanced and falling in the direction you want to go but it actually worked. I found I was able to get out quicker and further up on the boat, allowing me to match boat speed for my turn in. To be honest I am not entirely sure why it works but it helped me. You can see Chris Rossi doing it in this video I found on the Pro Ski Coach site,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfINo3J9gXo
Matt also found that as I was coming into the buoy, I would tend to lose my outward momentum by not staying level with my shoulders. So I would come up narrow, epecially on shorter lines lengths......need to focus on this next. Don't know if I can wait till spring, may have to make another trip to Orlando for a few more sets!
Here are a few more pics...;)

Using the "New Posts" feature is the first thing I do when I come on when I get to the TT forum page, and it will show them from newest at the top to the oldest at the bottom since you were last logged on. If there are no new posts, it will give you a window to allow you to click on for the Newest Posts in the last 24 hours. Also once you have looked through and or posted on any threads/posts that are shown, you can hit the refresh button and New Posts again and it will show any new posts/threads that were made since you came on. Otherwise if you can't find one of your own threads/posts from the past that has fell off the page, go to your profile and click on "Statistics" and click on either,
