Does anyone know where I can find some 3" exhaust flanges (I am assuming this is what they are called)?

Currently, I have the black plastic ones that are 3" in diameter and have the eight (8) holes on the exxterior of the transom.... I have found a few places that sell the 3.5" flanges but not the 3" ones I currently have.....

In addition, is there a seal or gasket that goes behind the flange? Or, should I use 3M 4200 (clear silicon) or 5200 (permanent sealant)?

Lastly, in regards to the inside of the 3" holes on the transom -- where the flange fits through -- shoud this area (the walls of the 3" hole) be sealed as well? Currently, they are exposed and you can see and touch the wood in the fibergalss?

This is one of the projects I have undertaken for this winter... More to come!!!

Thanks as always,

Ted

Apparently the 3' black plastic/fiberglass OEM types are hard to find. You may want to consider one of the s/s styles here, http://www.rexmar.com/page230.html and you can get the with or w/o the flappers and with or w/o the reducers to 3", depending on your choice. You may have to enlarge the transom holes, depending what you buy. You can always clean up the transom holes and apply a coat of gelcoat or either 3M Silicone you mentioned to seal off the raw fiberglass if it bothers you when you install the new tips.

I guess I am gonna have someone fabricate some new exhaust tips and flanges for me out of stainless steel....

I want them to match the eight holes in each flange (EXACTLY like the originals) in my transom so I will not have to re-drill new holes and cover up the old ones....

Anyone have any thoughts on this plan???

Thanks,

Ted

Are you looking for something like this?

I did a quick search for 3inch marine exhaust flange a few can up.

PS if not I'd go to a performance exhaust shop with your existing flanges and have them copy them.
Good Luck
