My friends 1998 prostar 205V predator has a wierd problem.

Engine idles somewhat rough and seems to shake just a little bit.
revs up a bit slow but hits the 5000rpm if needed.
On the lake when we put it in gear there is no power, the boat doesn,t go above 2800/3000 rpm and sounds rough.

things i,ve checked
Fuel system--OK
new spark plugs
plug wires - ok
distributor and timing -10 ok ( although -15 sounds better)
compression test ok aprox 180 to 150 range.
Checked for water in oil,...OK
camshaft and valves working
Diacom diagnose OK no fault codes

Diacom test page.
iac reset
last,..i hit the disable base timing and now she,s completely dead.
spark yes fuel Yes,..but it won,t start.

anybody familiar with these symptoms?
I,m pretty much on a dead end here so any info is greatly appreciated.

Is the Diacom still hooked up when you try to start it? If not, disconnect it and see if it runs. Otherwise, crank it and check for 1-2VDC on the purple/white wire at the distributor. If you get nothing, make sure the ignition system fuse is OK. For that matter, check all fuses. Also, if it runs again and still won't go past 2800 RPM, check thje fuel filter and the screen at the fuel pump inlet.

The engine is converted to LPG and i know 100% that it has fuel/lpg i injected start pilot just to make sure but it didn,t fire up.Disconneted diacom and + from battery just to make sure.
I,ll check fuses and purple/white wire tommorow.
(p.s checked for vacuum leaks etc but none found)cleaned distributor and replaced rusted spring.
Thanks.

Including the LPG conversion would have been helpful but only regarding the filter.

You have spark- don't worry about the ignition system fuse because you wouldn't have spark if it was bad. Have you checked the spark intensity? You indicate the timing is -10 but it's supposed to be 10 Before Top Dead Center- is that the way it's usually expressed in Europe?
