I was wondering what the weight difference between the stock intake and the performer or the like on the 351W?

One comes with the engine as ordered and one does not!;)

Seriously, I have done this and it does make a very nice difference in how the boat performs. 1993 Prostar 351 HO works wonders for me.:D

My guess is 35-40 for the steel and 15 maybe for the aluminum Edelbrock.

thanks, but I know about the power difference... I was talking about weight.

When I have been drinking it takes me a few to work through the exact point of the thread!:D

What are you trying to accomplish here? The weight difference and the effect that it will
have will make no difference at all. Performance will be enhanced as the motor will breath
easier, not because of weight.

Upgrading to 351 HO Heads (Gt-40) that is where you will see your increase

Edelbrock Performer weighs 9.3 pounds. Haven't found specs for the iron OE intake yet.

40.0 pounds for the cast iron intake.

Waxing the hull would make more difference than the weight.

I was more curious then anything. Not concerned about the performance of losing 30 lbs, but hey, in a slalom boat weight is weight! LOL
I think I have to pull the heads anyway, so I am more than likely am going to get the GT40 or the GT40P heads.

Weight is weight but all you need to negate the gain is a lardass like me trying to get up and leaning back enough to make it difficult. Unintentionally, of course.
