What are the reasons he's going from X-2 to X14V? Those are two boats I would consider and I'd like to have his /your feedback. I haven't really had a chance to try both and would like to know how the ski and surf wakes are behind both boats, especially if you've tried them.

Thanks

I haven't ski'd either. I've boarded and surfed the X2. But the X14v will be better for skiing and the X2 will be better for surfing and boarding.

He is a footer and his wife is a cruiser. She likes the room of the X2 they previously had a Malibu direct drive. He told me he really likes the X2 but misses the performance of the direct drive. The 14V gives him the room of a V drive with the performance of a direct drive. So he is happy and most importantly his wife is happy....

The 14DD has more room than the V drive IMO.....albeit with a different layout. A few grand cheaper too.

I tested the X14V out for 2 days, There are some nice things about it, However, I was not impressed with the backing up of this hull in to a slip, nor the front seat bolster when raised in the upward position. Going from the X9 to the X14V- I'll stay with my X9, I like DD's

Enjoy your new boat.
