The X-Star just arrived at my house Thursday evening after a 5 day, 2300 mile trek from Utah. I took off work early on Friday to give it a quick test run and I was very impressed by the whole package, especially the L-18. Thank you to Matt and Billy at Utah Water Sports for making the transaction as easy as can be and delivering a boat that looked even better than described. (and thanks TallRedRider for pointing out the listing on ebay!) I will miss my X2 but I'm sure I'll get over it after a few fun outings with the new ride. :steering:

I was hoping someone on this board would pick up this great deal. Congrats

Did you trade the X2 in?

That's a really nice looking boat!! Dumb question, why are some bimini's mounted under the lights and some mounted over? Mine on my 08 star is over the lights. Any pro's or con's?

I have it for sale through the local Mastercraft here in Orlando.

Thanks! As for the bimini, that was just a design change for 08s and newer. IMO- Pro's: less moving parts, cleaner look with the bimini attached to the tower. Cons: the higher the bimini, the smaller the shade area.

Thanks! The 450 was the deal sealer. Just something different to play with. Not to state to obvious, but the prop makes such a huge difference. Despite this big engine, this thing has less of a hole shot than my X2 with MCX which had a good low end prop. I'll get it propped for more low end soon and keep this one as a spare.

Sounds cool thats for sure. Just hooked up the fake a lake just to fire it up in the driveway. My neighbors think I'm nuts but they just don't understand.... ;)

Nice boat JDLarsen! Love the colors......black and red is awesome!

I bet you could use some experienced X-star riders to evaluate that bad boy huh! :D
(BTW, what is the lake temp in FL?)

Glad to hear that she got there safe and sound.

What prop do they have on there? Would not surprise me if it was a 13.7 X 19.5, the same as was on my X-45. I think that works well when you go up to 6,000 feet, but not needed at lower elevations. Put the 14.75 X 15.5 like Eric from OJ recommends and you will be ecstatic with the hole shot.

Yep, 13.7x19.5 is on it now and will get 14.75x15.5 or 17.5.
