It says he is in McAllen, Texas if you look at his Ebay store.

He has the ability somehow to manipulate the seller ID, as it is different every time he lists. Make me wonder a bit about the security of the eBay site.

Check out some of the trash and trinkets that he has been peddling on his past auctions.

Somebody needs to agree to go to this "Square Trade" place and check it out. Really freak this guy out and show up!
I just emailed him and asked him how fast she was.
I bumped him a BS question too & he responded quick but in a format that is unreadable to me

I have a guy after me for one of my snowmobiles that I have for sale with a similar scam. He wants to send me a check for 3k over what I want for the sled, and then have me pay a shipping company so they can take it to the UK.

I asked a question regarding the ad he had on yesterday to see what kind of a response I would get.
You asked:
"Very interested, do you have any more photos? Was the boat ever used in salt water?"
This is a bogus listing. Someone has corrupted my Ebay site and Ebay is taking care of this. Do not respond to this listing in any way. do not send money to this creep
Looks like he is hacking his way into sellers acount an placing his ad.

Be careful with that Erkle. There are all sorts of scams where they pay you more than you are asking. Espically in real estate.

whats the matter with Erkles boat??
It probably is the Fuel pump and then the fuel filter.
It will start and run and then when you shut it off and re-start...no go.
Sorry Erks, had to chime in.

I made a fake e-mail account and e-mailed the guy to see what he would say.
I asked Where is this boat located and what would one do if they wanted to inspect the boat in person.
He said:
Dear Sir,
First I will like to tell you that I am in United Kingdom and the boat is in Square Trade's custody in US the boat will be shipped from there on my expence .
The boat is like new , in perfect condition . I am selling this boat because the shipping to Europe will cost me to much .I have this boat from my father in law .The Buy it now price is $5,900 . I will sell the boat to the first one that makes a 2,900 $ deposit through Square Trade .
To be fair with all possible buyers I will sell the boat to the first buyer that will arange the Square Trade deposit payment . If you are able to make the payment today or tomorrow you will be the next owner of this boat .
Terms & Conditions Shipping and handling:
The shipping address must be provided before sending the deposit payment. The boat will be shipped through JC MOTORS or DAS Shipping Company . The boat will only be sent after receiving the deposit payment. I agreed with eBay Square Trade to send my boat to its warehouse since I am not in US .
This way, both sides (seller and buyer) are insured by eBay.
Payment:
If you will offer the buy it now price I will suport all the shipping from the warehouse to your address .
For the deposit payment i would like to use eBay Square Trade as a third party . They will keep your money until you get the boat and will release it to me upon delivery .
Here are my name and address you need for the payment in case you decide to buy the boat :
Michael Powell
22 Merton High Street
London SW19 1DN
United Kingdom
The boat is ready for shipment, i just need the payment confirmation from Square Trade with the transfer's details and the boat will be delivered to your address.
REFUND-After the boat arrives, you have a 7 days period for inspection. If the boat is different than the way i've described it, 100% refund - transfer fees and the boat will be shipped back to the warehouse on my expence. Anyway, i don't think it will be necesary, you'll love this boat from very first moment you'll see it.
Buy with confidence!
I will have pay for an insurance to eBay Square Trade as proof my trustworthiness.
Thanks for the conceded time .
I am looking forward to your reply.

I bid on it just to see what would happen.
I got this sent to me from eBay 1/2 hour later.
The following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety regarding:
Item Number - 7162366087
Item Title - 2002 Mastercraft Prostar 209 - Wakeboard / Ski Boat

If you have already paid, you may wish to pursue recuperating your funds. Some steps you might take include:
1. Ask the seller for a refund
2. If you paid by check, ask your bank to stop payment
3. If you paid by credit card, contact your credit card company's security department
4. If you have made a payment by money order or wire transfer, you may contact that company for further information at 1-800-325-6000 (Western Union), or at 1-800-926-9400 (Money Gram)

If you are registered on E-bay, you have most likely received multiple e-mails saying that your account is going to be out on suspension unless you log on and confirm your identity. Some people fall for this and when they do, the bad guys have your personal info. This guy is hijacking others e-bay accounts looking for a dummy to bid. I don't think it is an e-bay problem per say, but instead it is the people who are falling for the request for info from people like this guy and clicking on the link included with the e-mail message. For those that do not already know this, NEVER CLICK ON A LINK FOR PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT IS INCLUDED IN AN E-MAIL. These guys are very very good at impersonating a legitimate web site. If you are going to give personal information go directly to the site by typing the address in your browser. Once you are registered on a legitimate web site they should never ask for more information via an e-mail link.
