I have a friend with an '88 PS190. He wants to get a boom for it. He has access to a metal fab shop, so might just make it himself. Do those of you that have them on the '88 style hull use a straight bar or a contour bar? If anyone could post a couple pics of the section from the pylon to edge of boat that would be great.

I have a BI contour boom for sale that is the one he needs. It was used only a few times so it will save him over new. Either way I would not recommend a home built model, just not a smart idea. I am also in WI

I had the same model for 20 years, I used a fly high because I could not bring myself to drill hole in such a great boat.

My boom goes straight out from the pylon, works fine on my '89. IIRC it rests on the fiberglass that starts to angle up toward the windshield, so it's close, but it works. I have an ECI boom, I love it. It's set up to work either way, which will be nice if I eveer change boats.
Good luck.
