In the late 90's, that engine was called the MX. Not sure about 2000. But around 2001 or 2002, I recall seeing the Predator designation. I'm guessing 2004 or 2005 was when "RTP" showed up.

These are all give or take a year or so guesses.

From Wikipedia.

"The L31 replaced the LO5 in 1996 - known as the Vortec 5700. Known as the GEN 1+, this was the final incarnation of the 1955-vintage small block, ending production in 2005 with the last vehicle being a Kodiak/Topkick HD truck. Volvo Penta and Mercury Marine still produces the L31. The "MARINE" intake is a potential upgrade for L31 trucks. Using this "MARINE" intake will allow the use of common types of injectors with various flow rates while still maintaining emission compliance."

My 96 non-MC DD boat has the Mercruser version of the L31. Basically a first generation small block with Vortec heads and TBI induction.

According to the Water Ski Magazine BBG in 2000, they were calling the 310 hp TBI Vortec the Predator by then.

Can someone help me. The Data Plate on my Engine Reads:
Serial#5080388
Ord. Part # 11660530
Contract#DAAE07-83-C-H445
Model M151 Series

Is there somewhere that I can go and find out what Year this Engine is?
Thanks

What brand of boat, what brand of engine?

BTW, your profile smells of a spammer, fill it out right or go some place else to play.
