View Full Version : 1990 prostar 190

I just bought my first boat for our kids. Since my kids are young I thought I would start out with a nice used boat. We found a 190 prostar 1990 with a Factory 454. It is I am told a one of a kind baot. Everything checked out with Mastercraft, them putting in a factory 454.
My questions is this: I would like to resore this baot, and the interior is in good condition but it is white and yellow. I have some cleaner that I have bought that should be here tomorrow, however I would like to find new skins for this boat. Any chance of that.
Thank you for your input

You've got some darn lucky kids!! I believe it's not easy/possible to buy new skins from M/C, but there should be plenty of people here to help you!

Welcome to Team Talk! You'll learn a ton here, some of even true! Just kidding, it's a fantastic website, tons of knowledge.
You're out of luck on original skins from MC. I replaced my driver & observer seat bottom with about $50 in vinyl & cushions, using an old Singer sewing machine. It was a fair amount of work, but it turned out OK. Any good upolstery shop should be able to do it for you. IIRC, I got quotes of ~$200-$250 for just the 2 seat bottoms, so it ain't cheap. Good luck!
Post some pics of your rig, those 454's are rare! Where in the midwest are you?

I live in Indiana. Thanks a ton for the phone number I will give him a call tomorrow. Currently it does not really need new skins, however who know what will happen once the sun hits it. The baot has been in storage for some time. The boat only has about 150 hours on it.
Here's another one:
