Hi guys, Quick introduction!! Im Craig an i live in the uk, Recently bought an early 80s procomp and am loving every moment of it!! Shes an old girl but does the job!

Righthere we go,

I hate to say this but after speaking 2 m/cuk this morning they dont seem interested in speaking to me as im not after buying a 60000 boat off them!

Its leaking water through the prop gland and im sure it will need new packing, after having to find somewhere else to get the packing from i was met with the problem of what size to get.

Can any1 please give me an idea for the 1" shaft packing??

My options are

3 mm

From bayliner

Thanks in advance Guys
Ill now have a good look round this site which i feel will be very informative while i own this old girl!

A 1" drive shaft takes 1/4" packing, which is 6.35 mm. The 6 mm ought to do the trick.

Here's a rundown on the procedure (http://mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showpost.php?p=159060&postcount=31). Good luck. Sorry your dealer isn't more supportive.

You can get the rope packing from here if you need some, but shipping may be $$$, http://www.skidim.com/products.asp?dept=1118&pagenumber=2&sort_on=&sort_by=
or from one of the MasterCraft UK dealers here, http://www.mastercraft.co.uk/dealers
