Owning a boat in Calgary is tough. I cracked the engine block on my x15 during that cold snap in early October. I had some heat to the engine but it wasn't enough. Expensive cold snap.

Yeah I hear you. That cold snap caught me by surprise too. Luckily I had drained the block as a precaution but I had a cracked check valve in the ballast, a busted heater core, and a busted shower head. It is hard to believe the temperature can drop that fast.

How could you tell your block was cracked? I just want to make 100% sure mine is OK.

water in the oil, the oil will look a little milky. I assume you'll be ok as I hadn't drained the block. I hear even some boats that were sitting in the marina ended up with cracked blocks. I had a heating blanket on mine but it wasn't enough!
