Yes, I love trading, but have been blank lately. I liked MRK Merck after the Vioxx crash and both GM and F will get better, but not sure if they are at bottom yet. My company TMS is likely to have a bump later in the year as we continue to divest factories. I like buying Sun at 3.5 and selling at 4 - 5. Cisco has great value, but fear of Asian competition seems to be keeping it low.

Both of these stocks have unusual valuations and recent trading patterns.

I'm not sure I agree, they are WAY over valued and still losing money.

I still like Ford, they have some good products in the pipeline, but still have a lot of legacy expenses. Stock broker friend absolutely hates F, says I'd be better off at the Casino.

If you are going to invest in a Cisco type stock I would go with Motorola (MOT) which should be breaking out above 20 soon. It trades better against its earnings and is in a buy back scenario right now. Sears Holding (SHLD) could be a good long play. I like Google still if you can catch the stock down $10-20 from its 280ish price point. It will trade above $300 very soon. It would be a stock that I would set a limit order on and keep moving my stops forward as the price gets closer to $300.

For fear of volatility, I invest in mutual funds.

Just as volatile Jay, you're just more diversified. ;)

Apart from my index funds, I'm holding Starbucks, Take Two Interactive Software (they make the Grand Theft Auto Series) (shorter term investment, but performing exceptionally well - just released San Andreas on Xbox), TIVO (finally doing something) and ebay (disappointing so far).

Take a look at Peet's Coffee and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), too.
