Max RPM's on the RTP-1 AKA Predator 5.7

Hey everyone. I have a question. According to much of the information on TTalk, the Predator 5.7 liter engine has a max RPM range of 4000-4400. However, on the Indmar website, it says the engine has max RPM of 5200? To me, this means that the extra mph's that the MCX gets may be the way the motor is tuned or being "governed'? I am not a mechanic by any means. This is just simple curiosity. I appreciate your thoughts.:)

No, MasterCraft isn't hiding any power from you. If you're only turning 4000 RPM at WOT then your boat is over propped. MasterCraft says the operating range of the RTP-1 is 4400-4800 RPM.

The MCX has a different manifold than the RTP-1, which is probably why it delivers better performance at higher RPM.
