I have a ps 190 that recently bought back last year. I am really looking to start slalom skiing and have a very good friend of mine that is willing to teach. the only problem is I have a spine coming up from the wake that is pretty tall. Didn't know how to fix this. It is not a problem at long line.

the 93/94 prostar 190 wakes are considered to be some of the very best ever. do you know if your boat has a power slot (1.5 to 1 gear ratio) or is it 1 to 1. The slot might have a little more turbelence than the 1 to 1, but is not as powerful. Check the prop and be sure that you are running the original recommended size. Changing props away from factory settings can affect the table turbulence.
Check around for wake pics - or better yet add one of yours. There will be a "hump" in the 22 off range (53' rope length) in the low 30mph range. Is this what you are referring to?

At what line length and speed do you see "the spine"...I have a '93 and aside from spray at very short line lengths it is the softest smallest wake ever made IMHO.
At 32 and 35 off the is non-existant.
At slower speeds there is a bump at 22 off, though it is fairly soft and foamy.

It has a 13x13 oj. It is rather soft but where it comes together it does have a 8"-10" spine of water. My boat has the 351 with a 1 to 1 transmission. It is rather noticable from 28 to 32 mph. I will try to get some pics this week if the weather holds. Thanks for all the replies. This site is awesome for the sport.

I believe there is an issue if you register through the mastercraft website instead of the specific team talk site. But there was a fix, I would look in the help/suggestion section for assistance.
With some boats (no experience with yours) people find that if you add some bow weight it can have positive effect on the bump. Might try running less fuel in the tank as well just to see.
Edit: Here's text from the link I was recalling.

you talking about the rooster tail at 15 off? its nothing more than foam water, ski through it and don't look back
