Just wanted to post some pics of my project. It's an 89 Tristar 190. More will be forthcoming as this has been a major undertaking. I've had the boat for about 7 years and decided I wanted to completele redo it and repair some damage done by the previous owner. I've also posted some pics of the trailer under a previous thread.. Also, in case you're wondering, the first two pics are of the rotten wood block which was supposed to be steel inlaid fibreglass for the bow eye and lifting ring.

I used to have an 89 Tristar and your boat looks lie my old one. I sold it in 96 to buy my Prostar. Did you by chance buy it from a Dr. in Chapin SC? I sold it to him, but I do not know if his children took as good of care of it as I did. Mine was a grey hull with teal stripes. And it was always covered and stored dry.

Still have a couple minor things to complete but very close to completion! Keep in mind that I designed the new color scheme as well as cut AND sewed every last piece.

I actually purchased this one in Texas in 98. It apparently had been in some sort of storm/accident up on Lake Lewisville (broken windshield glass all inside and a hard hit on the passenger side). Interior was perfect but had since gone severely south...

Pilot - I am doing the same thing with my 89 Tristar since I have the engine running. Did you do the windshield yourself?

I have an 89 Tristar 190 that I am on the last of a a major upgrade/restoration project of the winter. Although, I have nobody else to blame except myself for the lack of upkeep. My dad bought the boat for me while I was in high school. Took it to college, lack of money, lack of proper maintenance. I've since graduated and been working for a while and decided this past few months that I was going to completely redo the entire boat. So I removed all of the flooring as well as the panelling/upholstery and had it redone or did it myself. It looks like a completely new boat on the inside, and with a few coats of gelcoat cleaner and wax, the outside looks like I painted it. In addition, I added a tower with 4 speakers and 6 lights. I will generate a post once all is completed and display the 3 months and four 5 grand worth of work.

Great job Pilot. Does your Tristar have painted grab rails and pilon?

Thanks, Neither the pylon or grabrails are painted. Grab rails are original stainless and pylon's in great shape as well with no corrosion.

I have not done anything with the windshield though I have been talking to an Aircraft mechanic friend about replacing the curved corners. He's telling me it's fairly easy to form the lexan in an oven. May wait until winter for that one....

Griff, I'd like to see more pics when you get a chance. I miss my Tristar sometimes, great boat. Not on TT much during the season and yes, plenty o skiing and riding now that the weather has finally turned in NE. Cya!
