Took some guts, but they got away with it. Wonder if it looks nice up close.

I think its cooler than hell...

Don't listen to the "nattering nabobs of negativity". There is a contingent on this board who believe that every boat coming out of the Mastercraft factory (especially the hallowed S&S) was created perfect, and modifying it is sacrilege.

Then there are those who believe Mastercraft makes a great platform for experimentation and creativity. Frankly, this is one of the best examples of that I've seen.

I am with Harold, I have mixed feelings, looks like a good job from the pictures, but seems somewhat sacrelig, kinda like trying to make a old 64 split window Corvette coupe into a 53 I do like the vintage exhaust ports though.

By the way, since my kids signed me up for facebook, I becoming a junkie again, and darn, I thought I had my addictions under control

Yea, could have been a basket case and just made a classic looking boat using random parts and built it into something rather than scraping the hull and parting the small stuff out.

The pylon is still there, but hard to see in the photos. YOu can see it best in the last photo.

I wouldn't have done that to a S&S in good shape, but this may have been issing some parts.

I do like what he did with this MC - I think it looks great. Reminds me of one of my favorite boats the 1994 Nautique Paragon.

I knew there would be mixed feelings, we think it does look good up close, could be better, but the imperfections in the clear coat make it look older. We had it in a wooden boat show last Sat. fooled 90% of the people there. We will be adding a ladder, no platfrom. started out with a trashed black and grey S&S. Owner wanted it repainted, then we went with this theme. Some more stainless trim will be added to further replicate a chris or century. A larger MasterCraft logo in gold is planned. The bottom passenger side cushion is reversible, for spotting. The owner is very pleased with outcome, my design idea was to make the boat look like a 66' Chris Craft super sport from a distance. up close I just wanted it to look good enough to fool the average boater into thinking that is an old wood boat, period. The Mastercraft logo is proudly a part of the design. thanks your comments, I appreciate them all.

btw thats 8 coats of clear sanded and polished

I'd love to see more pics of the interior as well as other boats you've done. I can't stop thinking about this boat. I've sent pics of it to all my wood boat pals.

I must have been living in a box! I have never seen a Paragon. That thing is incredible.

Just googled it and found the 1993 Brochure (http://www.nautiqueowners.com/reference/1994_Paragon/index.asp?page=01)
