The swim platform on my 91 Prostar 190 has never looked good since I bought it used a few years ago. Now it it is beginning to rot and peel off underneath a bit. I have used the three stage teak cleaning applications with little to no improvement. Any ideas? Is it possible the guy before me sealed the teak with something? Is sanding it down a bit a terrible idea?

Your probably going to need to sand it.
Harold has a pdf file on restoring your teak.
And here is a link to my restoration thread.
Good luck and take lots of photos.

If the Starbrite Teak Oil or the Starbrite Premium Teak Oil bottle says Penetrating Sealer/Preserver, it is just that, a penetrating and sealing/preserving teak oil.
