So when i bought my X2 early last year, I acquired a 'HO' slalom ski. It sat in the boat storage unit on a permanent basis, only seeing the light of day when a known skiier would request it. (I think it's been wet 3 times since I owned it).

I've always been put off attempting it because everyone always told me that you learn on two, then drop one then try to slalom with one foot in and one out to stabilize yourself and all of that sounded far too much like hard work to even contemplate given that I could always wakeboard.

So yesterday, it was blowing about 20mph, the water was far too rough for boarding so for fits and giggles we thought we'd take the slalom ski in case anyone felt the need to attempt it.

Well, I managed to get up after a few attempts at swallowing the lake, took a couple of runs down the lake and I have to say... that thing is addictive, I can't wait to break it out on a glassy day and try to carve some turns!

Hey, good job! Not too many people get up on slalom without learning via the routine you mentioned. Just be careful, it can become addicting!:D

Yes, great work to the original poster and agreed on the addiction potential.

And whatever you do, stay away from 9" buoyant orange spheres. They will sap the life out of you and (if applicable) will strain your marriage.:D

You need to forget the slalom ski and try Hydrofoiling! Especially when the water is rough! Now Foiling is addictive!

Ha ha...

2 things about foiling...

1 - I only see kids & 45+ year old people doing it on my lake.
2 - If I want to blow 2 or 3k on a new toy, it would be a new windsurf or kitesurf rig.
