I have a fiberglass platform and the rubber grip seams to leave black on everything. I was standing on the platform and came back into the boat and there was black all over the my feet. This stuff come off on everything.
My dealer has tryied to fit this problem in the past, but the replacement rubber doesn't seam to stay on the platform. I am thinking that I should have just gotten teak, because this rubber is going to ruin the interior of my boat.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Here is one:
Tell the dealer that you are unsatisfied with the quality of the current platform, and if they are unable to rectify the issues you have presented them with then you would like the platform replaced with a teak one free of charge.

Maybe use the new "Contact MasterCraft (http://www.tmcowners.com/index.php?page=con_main)" link they gave us?

I just notice this on a friends boat this past weekend. Are you sure that it is the rubber, and not a carbon build-up from the exhaust?

You could try Gator Grip. I have heard good things about it.

Hey guys,
AirJunky has been selling Traxx since 1997 when we found the vendor who makes Gator Grip. The product is the very same. But now days I have a couple of vendors for it, which gives me a few more colors. And since I've been doing it a while, I know what colors fade & are prone to have problems....... basically anything with red or yellow in it.

As for the FakeJunky, well, thats a sore spot to say the least. I sold Chris his first sheet at Boardstock in 1999 on Lake Shasta. Since then he's mimicked everything I've done. Flattering, huh.
Anyway, I just built myself a replacement swimstep for my old teak. Bought the glass step on Ebay for $175 shipped to my door. It turned out pretty cool.

April-This has been an ongoing problem with the fiberglass platforms. I went with teak!

I have a fiverglass platform on my x80, the rubber left black stuff all over the interior, on peoples clothes, your feet. after about a month of having the boat our dealer contacted MC and they replaced it with a teak inlay platform, much better. the only problem now is trying to keep teak oil on the platform without getting it on the fiberglass.

I wish they made a teak inlay for the x9....that would solve all of my problems.

Well I sent an email to MC using this site and they are fast. The good news is that the platform is under warranty but the bad new is they don't have any good fix because that rubber is the longest lasting. MC told me to go back to my dealer and they are now trying to get something done under warranty.
I guess I will be going to a teak platform.

Update: MC has done it again....they replaced my fiberglass mess with a new teak platform. The boat looks different but I will be happy to not have the black rubber in the boat.
Thanks Mastercraft :)
