I currently have a Mastercraft Rachet-style cover for my 03' X-9. I have to store my boat outside because it is too long for my garage. I have seen people with nice black covers that not only cover above the rub rail, but also hang down to protect the sides from the sun. Does anyone know where I can find a cover like this at a good price? I'm in love with my boat and want to keep it as new as possible (especially since I won't be able to find another X9 in 10 years). My Mastercraft cover is okay, but the velcrow is shot and it leaks pretty bad even though I've sprayed it numerous times. I appreciate your help!

I have a full, never-used, custom cover that I got for a 2002 PS 209 with Zeroflex tower. I bought the cover from skiboatcovers.com which is highly recommended by folks on this site. Because of a delay in building my boathouse last year , and trading the 209 for a 214, I never needed the cover for the 209. If you're interested I can call them and see if it would fit your 2003.

I am interested, if Easyrider doesn't want it. Check your PM box. Thanks

I got a good deal on one from a Marine in Washington State. It did have the marine stamped on it. I watched the video on Carver covers and its as good as a OEM gray canvus MC cover. Plus it covers the platform. I covers the rub rail, but does not extend much below it.
Good luck.

For the price, you can NOT beat the quality. Mike is a great guy to work with, too. He had the cover to me in less than a week with shipping.
Doesn't that rub the hell out of your gelcoat on the road?

If it was meant to be a tow cover, it probably would.
I can't tell if you are being facetious or not, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt and not give you a dumb$hit response.

Wasn't trying to be. Sorry for the dumb**** question. Just assumed it was being used to tow with since the photo was on the trailer and appeared to be on the road. I am looking for a cover to travel with and can't tell from skiboat covers website if they make one.

If you are looking for a true tow cover, go with Rankin. They are $$$$$$, probably in the $1,000+ range, but you cannot beat them for that purpose.
The covers from skiboatcovers.com are more for storage. The reason why the cover was on my boat while on the trailer and in the street was because I just got the cover 10 minutes earlier and wanted to try it on and take a few pics. Any of the skiboatcovers.com (waterline or not) would balloon very easily under any type of speed. They are build with support poles to help with shedding water off the covers.

So Rankin can build me one like this? I had this one made many years ago and in today's dollars it was in that price range. Looking for one I can buy vs. leaving a boat with some one for custom fitting.
Was looking at your photos of your boat. Very sweet boat you have there.

I think I paid around $750 for my ratcheting MC cover, but supposedly that was a "good deal". Mine is used mostly for storage, but I do tow with it on occasion. It's been a good cover and fits the boat well, but I have had to have it reinforced over the windshield to keep it from tearing through. I also had the upholstery shop cut out for the cleats when I use it for mooring.

Yes, Rankin should have your boat's pattern. Give them a call... (425) 483-9266
What is wrong with the cover pictured? Looks to be nice and tight and in good shape.

We want to get one for another boat. When I had this one made I had to leave a boat with them and they are 300 miles away on the coast so looking for an off the shelf option. Thanks for the info. and we will give Rankin a call.

FYI....I heard a rumor on another forum that rankin or evolution covers was having some customer service issues and/or health problems. Unfortunately I can't remember which one and I can't find the thread.

I took my MC cover to a local shop and had curtains sewn into it. It covers ALL of the fiberglass and platform. Plus it has velcro and plastic buckles to accomodate the tower. I don't have any photos here at work.
I had a cover from skiboatcovers on my old boat, but it didn't go all the way down. It was only to the waterline. It left some of the fiberglass exposed.
