Good Day all,
Just committed to my first Mastercraft...a 2006 x-30...and boy am I nervous. New boat design, heavier, etc. That said, it looks great and has greater draft and freeboard than the 2005....hopeful this works for Lake Tahoe where the chop can get kind of heavy. Two boys (7 and 8 years) waiting to get on the lake...wish me luck.

Can't go wrong with that boat. Your boys will love it as much or more than you. Have fun and post some pictures.

Al, welcome to the board. I checked that boat out last week and was really impressed. It is quite a bit heavier than the boat it replaces and may call for more motor. I would be interested in knowing how it performs with the MCX, which probably is a high percentage installation. What engine did you order?

Also would be interested to hear what you think after you've had a chance to try it out. We got to crawl around one a couple weeks ago and I was very impressed. The cooler under the seat is awesome, and the pass-throughs from the bow are really cool. Had we known the 06 was coming out so soon, we probably would have waited to order. That said, I'm not at all sorry we got the '05, love the boat and hope you enjoy yours as well.

Hello all,
thanks for the comments and endorsement re our purchase of a 2006 x-30! The boat will be delivered to Tahoe on June 15th...just in time for Father's day. The boat hull is all red while the deck is white. Seats are grey, white with red piping. Guages are pretty cool..yellow like the x-star. Ballast filer guages, etc. Does have the MCX, with 350 hp.
We also checked out the '05 and VERY much like that boat...the extra weight was opted for and we bought the 2006 because of Tahoe chop.
No idea how it will perform. Here is a photo. Unfortunately, still in shrink wrap! Will post others once on the water.

That looks pretty cool.. I'd have to say I would have sprung for the Flake paint I've seen on some of the pro stars if that was an option.
Nice looking boat, I am sure you will have lots of fun on the water with it..

Have not seen the flake paint, but for the online samples. Sounds pretty good, but our choices were EXTREMELY limited. Could find only three boats in all of NorCal. Black/orange, black, med blue and this red one.
By the way, I have no reservation recommending Tony Castagnetto (sales manager) at Ski World USA in Pleasanton, CA. He spent a lot of time educating us, got us a very solid price, threw in a fair amount of freebies, having the CF numbers 'painted' on as well as the name ("Red-iculous!") and is delivering the boat to Lake tahoe....all in all pretty solid service....(no I am not affiliated in any way...I just think good guys should be recognized as such.)....
Looking forward to it!

Nice looking boat, looking forward to seeing pictures of it out of the shrink wrap. Congratulations! You're going to love how it handles the chop compared to the smaller boats.
Saw a red flake X-45 last time we visited the dealer. Beautiful! It was sold, so I'm hoping to see it on the water soon. My only concern would be damage to the gelcoat, I'm guessing it's not easy or cheap to fix the flake if it gets dinged. It sure does look nice though!
