Hi guys, ive had alook on the previous threads and not found the answers im looking for? Please help! We just took out 1980 19 Skier out and noticed (after it over heated quickly) that the impeller in the water pump was not spinning! On further investigaion the internal spindal was spinning but the rubber was not! is this a commmon problem! we have ordered a new spindal/rubber assembly from the guys in Wallingford, Cheers Guys, but my question is.....Is there and electric inline pump that we could purchase to replace the belt driven water pump or does this not often happen and we will be fine for another 30 years???
Any feedback gratefully recieved......

I don't know about 30 years but I change mine every 4 to 5 years , It probably depends on Hours VS years but it's not a hard fix on most boats , If you got 30 years out of your last one you did good

antman although i have never seen just the rubber not turning i have read a few times of it happening, so i guess it happens sometimes, just replace the impeller you should be ok, as for electric pump i never seen one fitted and never heard of anybody wanting to fit one but there is allways a first time.
as for being good for the next 30yrs i would check and replace every year to be on the safe side, at least carry a spare all the time.

Thanks guys! 30 Yrs was an exageration but our dealer said he does'nt sell many and they should break that often, He's quoted only £32 for a replacement, so a spare would be a good idea, Its an old craft! As for the inline pump! My buddy thinks that an inline pump should work better as it would'nt run off the belts and would increase the hp? But we havnt found one...Maybe just wishing....Anyway thanks for the advise as always...
