I have a 1994 PS 190. Water appears to be coming in the boat somewhere in the up front storage area. I have to run my pump every 30 minutes and it pumps out about a gallon each time. I have looked but cannot tell where it might be coming in from. I have been told that 190's will develop leaks around the shaft housing but I had this checked and it was OK. Furthermore, a leak at the shaft would be in the engine well and not up front. The water actually ends up coming out through the carpet under the drivers side feet. Is it possible that it is coming from the heater? Any other suggestions?

As I was reading your post I was going to ask if you had a heater. I would check that out..

Check (somehow) around the rub rail where the deck meets the hull. Also, is it possible you're getting water in your intake vents on the right and left sides of the bow?

You might also check your speedo tubes. If either of your speedos aren't working, you may have a line disconnected and pumping water into your boat behind the dash and working its way down from there?

Mine was leaking badly so I started the hunt and this is what I found. My shaft and rudder box were leaking. When I went around turns, my rub rails were leaking. And there was even some comeing from the drian plug. The way I figured it out was, I took the boat when it was completly dry and filled the hull with about 6 inchs of water when it was on the trailer. Then you get up under it and wait for the drips. You might not have any luck with this if it is coming from you speedos but that is another possibility! Good Luck!

I'd bet heater. Check immediately underneath the heater while it's running and if it's warm water, pretty good clue the heater core is cracked. They are very weak. Take apart the heater box, take the core to local parts store and find a match in their catalog. Cores are cheap.

I have leak in my heater core and the carpet under the driver feet is what gets wet.
For now I just put it in a plastic bowl.
It does not leak that much water.
If you are getting a gallon of water in 30 min. It is the hoses going to the heater that are leaking.

I have had a leak at the rub rail on the drivers side. there was a gap, and water was coming in when I turned. At first I thought it was coming in the vent.
Any on ever had a leak from around the speedo hose, where it goes thru the hull?
I have a leak from the rear that I will tend to a little later . Probably take the tank out.
I sealed around my exhaust last year.

I would guess it would be the vents. I know if I dip the nose under and the water reaches the vent intakes water will drip underneath the bow, but it is nowhere near a gallon every 30 minutes.
Although, it could be if you put the nose under enough.

Finally got a chance to look for leak. It was the heater core. Dripping at a pretty fast rate. Will replace before it gets cold.
Thanks for the help.
