I have an 05 X45 and need to add some weight and a "high altitude pro" in order to beef my wake up. Anybody know where I can buy one of these props? Anybody here have one and car to lend advice? Thanks~

Call acme props and ask what is best for you. Be prepared to answer what engine, how much ballast and what usage patterns you enjoy.

Call OJ props and ask the same question.

I ended up with an Acme 1593. My hole shot is incredible now and it does not change, even with large amounts of weight. My fuel efficiency is better as well. It is a 14.5 X 16.

Our 14.75 X 15.5 is a good option.

eric suggested this prop for my 08 xstar with L18 and it has my boat performing exactly as he said it would. it changed my boat completely.

Ole Miss,

I do get a fair amount of cavitation vibration when I load it up heavy. Does not vibrate when not ballasted heavy. The vibration occurs at variable times throughout the accelleration and never when already on plane. Tried a second prop with the same result. It is not bad enough for anyone to notice except for the anal retentive boat owner...Don't know if the OJ would do the same thing...but I got a buddy who is an acme dealer, so I went with that.

OJ,

I have an 08 X45 with factory prop and we mostly surf and wakeboard with just the stock ballast system...what OJ prop do you suggest that would give me a better surf wake?

The 14.75 X 15.5 has proven to be a very good prop for your application. Not sure I would say the prop itself will improve the wake, it will improve the boats ability to accelerate and hold speed.

The 14.75 X 15.5 would be worth a try. Be happy to send one for you to run and compare.

I just switched to this prop from the 14.25 X 14.5 on my X-star (MCX powered) and LOVE IT! Eric was great about sending me that 14.75 X 15.5 for a test run, very much appreciated. I think you'll like that prop too.

Thanks EJ! I am looking to add an extra 1500-1800 lbs in my 05 X45, in hopes of beefing up my wake for wakeboarding. I like to go big, and a bigger wake is the only way I know. The prop, I am told will enable the boat to utilize more torque to get out of the hole, and maintain speeds better during pulls. What model would you suggest for this usage pattern?

I would start with the 14.75 X 15.5, if that is not enough low end then I would go to the 14.25 X 14.5.
