View Full Version : Steering Cable Recall on most '04's

I bought an '04 210 new from the dealer in March of '05. I just located several recall notices on this site, one that applies to my boat relating to the steering cable. How can I determine whether the dealer performed this recall before selling me the boat? I know...I can call and ask them, but how can I tell for myself that the service was actually completed? Not that I don't trust them or anything, but I have paid for my boat so like so many other MC owners I'm not feeling very important to my dealer at this point. If it were a car the manufacturer would have a record of the service, but all I hear from my salesperson is that "the boat industry is ten years behind the auto industry". ...great!

Do you know if the steering cable recall applies to the ProStar 190's as well? Thx.

The chances that the recall was done without your knowledge is low. Use the new contact page and e-mail the warranty dept to see what their records show if your dealer can't provide the information. The real bad news is the boat will need to go to the dealer for the recall. It a good thing having steering.

Thanks for the feedback. I do seem to recall a letter in the mail now but I will double check the dates!
