Okay all I am in great need to get rid of the carpet in my boat and have been looking at every option. I would really like to just get rid of the carpet altogether and maybe use a spray in "Herculiner, Line-X" or something like that ?? Any one ever tried doing this ?? I have also considered a snap in carpet so I can take it out at times or even a mixture of the spray in and carpet.... I have a 1989 Prostar 190 so give me some ideas ?? Harold what you think ?? Just as an add in I am going to replace the interior this winter and have considered going with a light tan interior to contrast the white and red on the boat ?? Looking for ideas all so enlighten and tell me what you think ??
Just so happens that I just tore out my carpet that was half rotted anyway and put in the Cabela's/Overtons Ultra Tuff Coat, light gray color. I used the two part primer as well. As they say, it's all in the prep. Removed interior, tore carpet out, scraped glue remnants, sanded rough, then fine, wiped all down with acetone. Then began with the primer, then two coats of the coating. I also bought the roller for the texture but you can find the same thing at any hardware store. Turned out really nice and feels fine on the feet. A little rough say on the knees or belly when I was putting everything back together. I just did this about a month ago and have been out a few times since. I cannot say how it will last but seems to be very durable as I've dropped an anchor, sacks, boards, etc and all is still good. It is not slippery at all and the rubber additives provide quite a bit of traction. I have also thrown in a few van runner floor mats around the motor box and will probably get a normal car floormat for the driver. Didn't plan on the gaps being quite that large in between the sections. Also there was quite a bit more noise(creeking) due to fiberglass on fiberglass but I plan on getting some rubber under the driver and observer seat and then reattaching.
Here are a few pics once completed.

I went the snap-in carpet route, couldn't be happier with it.

Looking at both of those I may actually get a price on combining the two. Maybe do the spray in liner first then add the snap in carpet a little later...... and looking at your interior color dpolen I am definately going to go with a tan color on the seats, white just seems to show dirt and look dirtier most of the time.
