As the title says what size wrench for the stuffing box and lock nut.
Boat is a 2003 x2.
Yes... I did a search and found lots of good info on how to change the packing, but never the wrench size.

Thanks

Pipe wrench did it for me. No need to order a wrench for a DD, but a V-drive may be different.

Installing an access hatch on a DD and using the little wrench means you never have to remove the motor cover, rear seat, rear gas tank panel and floorboard to service the stuffing box.

2" and 1-7/8" on my V-Drive. I don't remember which one was which, but they were certainly different sizes.

Harold, looks like your bilge needs a good coat of wax..... shame on you.

I use a 20 Cresent wrench to adjust mine, I have to remove the center rear floor section, but that only takes about 5 minutes to remove and replace.

I'm going to go to Lowe's tommorow and get two over size vice grips.Maybe walk around the store to see what else might work.
I found this pic of my stuffing box.You can see how tight it is the tanny is wraped around the nut alittle.

Bought two of these today.
Worked like a charm.I tight'n it about 1/3 of a turn
I hate useing Vise grips on nuts, but sometimes you have too.
