For what it's worth, I checked with the factory regarding my 40th PS197 and only 45 of them were built. If you ask your dealer to check into it, they should be able to give you an exact number as well as which number your particular boat is in that process. I like to have this for future reference and possible sale.

jkski, are you trying to boost the value of your boat based on scarcity????

Wouldn't the number be stamped on a plate somewhere on the boat? For example, there's a plate under the throttle of my boat stamped "21 of 35" :)

Precisely! Mine is actually number 5 of 45 built and I wish they would have made a small engraved piece for the inside of the boat by the throttle, but since they did not limit the number they were willing to build, they really could not do that until after the fact. So, I am considering trying to get some official documentation from MC that says #5 of 45 and then I'll have a small plate engraved, as I do think it helps to authenticate and hopefully create some value, although in this market I don't think it matters much.

Footin' you are the man...I may have to start paying you a commission!
Do you ever see my old boat around (old....it was a 2005)? Tell me she still looks good!!!

We need to ski together sometime, I'll bring the 40th down or let me know when you are in the area.

So at least two 40th saltwater X-Stars were made. I have a feeling there weren't too many more than that.
