Which coil for 351 HO?

Which coil do I need for a 92 prostar 205 with the 285 HP ford 351 HO? I thought it was going to be part number 1230 from skidim, but Im not sure. I dont see any resistor, and I believe the boat has electronic ignition. I put the #1230 in, and she breaks up under full throttle. She ran fine all last week, so I dont think its fuel, but I could be wrong...

This should be the correct coil. If you are having problems call ski dim, they will steer ya through it.

well, i put the old ignition coil back in, and im gonna go give that a run around the lake and see what happens.

I really feel like its fuel related, but I didnt touch the carb and it was running great 4 days ago.

Measure the resistance of the old coil and buy one with the same value. They come in 2 flavors, 2.5 or 4 ohm??? The one with the lower resistance should be using an external ballast resistor.

well, we put the old one back in place and it ran great, so at least I know its spark and not fuel. Ill email the guys at skidim and see what they say. The old coil does not have an external resistor, and the new one says it does not require one either. The old coil didnt have polarity marked on it, only the word "batt" which was where the purple wires went. I assumed that the purple wires are the positive side and black was negative (ground). I cant imagine having hooked the new coil up backwards.
