My buddy might be looking for one. Only found one for sale so far.
Anyone own one of these? How is the wakeboard wake?
What is the length of this boat? (19.5'?)

Might also try looking for a Prostar 195 or a Sportstar open bow. Same boat. Everything you could want to know about that boat is here http://mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showpost.php?p=311025&postcount=52

It's a better ski boat. The X-5 is the X version of the Prostar 195. The PS195 is the same hull as the 95-97 PS190 but with an open bow.

Interested why he wants an X-5 -- and is interested in the wakeboard wake.

And X-9 is a tad bigger -- and definitely has a good wakeboard set up. I know where one of those can be had BTW.

Yup. We have one and we love it.

How is the wakeboard wake?
In 1996, MasterCraft changed the ProStar 205 to mirror the changes made to the ProStar 190 in 1995. Note the ProStar 205V went on to become the original X-Star/X-2/X-1 with legendary wakeboard performance. The X-5 offers similar wake (similar share, but more modest in size) - for beginner to solid advanced riders this hull offers as much wake as you will ever need (when weighted). I have had no complaints from any guest rider I have pulled with our boat. In fact the typical response is a big smile, followed by a comment like, "Nice wake!".

That is correct.

Now that just made my day! ;)

He might want to keep it under 20' because of lake restriction.
If you have info on a used X-9 I'll pass it on though.

Of the DD cross over boats, an X-7 or X-14 would suit my specific needs better than my X-9 -- since I prefer to slalom. The X-9 is a better board boat. It is over 20 feet by a tad. An 03 with 350 Indmar and all the extras but power slot.
