We have a '94 LT1, which I believe to be rated at 308 or 309. I know as time went on, the engine was rated up to (and maybe above) 330 - in 1997 or 1998 I think. Are there any physical differences, or is it programming? If so, can I change mine? Not that I really need it, but if it's there, I'll take it...

Not sure what the difference is, but yours is rated at 310 hp.

They did make some changes to the programming. If you have a good dealer near you, they can connect the diagnostic computer to it and see if it has the most recent checksum for that motor. I don't know what they'll charge but the later LT-1 motors were rated at 340 HP. I don't know what the differences were in the torque curves because GM, MC and Indmar never gave out the data, even to dealers. I asked for it several times when I went to training.

They did make some changes to the wiring harness after the MEFI 2 ECM, too. The first ones had positive voltage outputs for triggering relays, etc and the later ones use negative, which conducts less current, generates less heat and last longer. It's also safer in terms of worst case situations.

Thanks Jim, will put this on "the list"...
