I am trying to replace the belt on my 2000 Maristar 210 (310 HP Indmar), it looks a little worn. I have 3 questions:

1. SkiDIM told me correct belt was Item # 1158, URL is
http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=25-7420

I have received the new belt, and it doesn't appear to be the correct shape. It is flat from top to bottom. My existing belt has a triangular shape narrowing from the cog side (outside) down to bottom. Previous owner replaced belt, Perhaps that is just from 5 years of wear? The new belt doesn't appear to want to fit into the pulley grooves.

Existing belt has the following written on it:
Dayco Top Cog
1899:14
1543011A1090
76-1

Does anyone know if these 2 belts are compatible?

2. How exactly do you loosen and tighten the alternator for replacement? I can see the bolt that appears to be on a track to move the alternator in and out, Do I need to loosen/remove all the other alternator bolts as well?

3. What should I use to provide leverage to alternator to tighten back up after loosening? I don't want to break anything. I have figured out that I need to remove water pump hoses and bracket.

Thanks for your help
