I finished uploading all the jump pictures I have from the Global Invitationals 2009 Water Ski Pro Tour on my web site (http://grandcityimages.smugmug.com/gallery/8728735_CwK9d/1/577206114_t7MwN), GrandCityImages.com. I'm quite pleased with them. I'm going to finish uploading the slalom pics tomorrow. If your interested in looking at the jump pictures, pick the slide show view and set it to fast. It will take a while, but they are really cool! By the way I have quite a few slalom pictures up in that gallery, I'm just not finished.

I hope you all enjoy them a lot!
Sue

Here is an article (http://www.mlive.com/sports/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2009/06/pros_praise_new_placid_waters.html)from the Grand Rapids Press about the competition site, Placid Waters. These are nice lakes. We are friends with Karl DeLooff, the guy who is responsible for dreaming up and building the site. He is doing a very nice job. Our family and our ski team has used these lakes this year.

Why the lousy watermarks?

Why the lousy watermarks?

If watermarks on my web site are a problem why doesn't a moderator just remove this thread. I was really happy with the pictures I took and wanted to share them with my friends on this forum. I thought they would be fun for those who were interested in looking at them.

I have a watermark because when my pictures are out on the web for everyone and anyone in the world to see; there isn't much protection of intellectual property. Anyone can do a screen capture and take pictures from most anywhere on the web. Since I was laid off in December I've been exploring opportunities to do professional photography work with a focus on sports. I try to have a watermark that works, but isn't too annoying. I guess it's lousy.

The joy is gone... maybe this thread should be too. Goodnight.

Awesome pics Sue! Keep up the good work! One could put an instructional article together on jumping from a series of those pics.

Canon EOS 40D with my Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens. I was wading in the water much of the day so I could get closer shots.

Canon is offering me an upgrade to a Rebel XTi after my S2is took a dump. Will cost $120 to repair the old Cam, but I could get the XTi for $350 with the standard lense

Sounds like a nice deal. I'd go for the upgrade. I have an older digital rebel for my beat around camera. I've taken it for nature hikes in swamps where you never know when your going to sink in a big muddy hole. I used to use it a lot for sport pictures. The motor couldn't keep up with what I wanted it to do. I think the newer Rebels are better than my old Rebel.

I'm all done uploading everything that I've got from this tournament. I didn't take any wakeboard pics on Saturday... so here's my big I'm sorry to the wakeboarders on this forum. The tournament's wakeboarders weren't the top level pros and I needed to take some breaks from the sun. I'll try and make it up to you guys by finding some wakeboard event to photograph at a later date. I posted the slalom link earlier, but here it is (http://grandcityimages.smugmug.com/gallery/8714106_iyLnR/1/576030356_hnRNT)again if you want it.
