How much weight do you need to add and where do you add it.

We put a 350lb bag in the walk through, 500 lbs in the back and 500 lbs between the engine box and port side. If we have extra people they sit on the trunk with their feet on the swim platform.

Thats 1350 with bags only. what is your capacity? I have a 92 PS 205 and i want to add a couple fat sacs. do you go over? What speed to surf? what about when wakeboarding at ~18ish?

We wakeboard behind a 92 205 with three nearly full 540 sacks and as many as 8 people. I estimate we routinely load 2500 to 3000 pounds worth or ballast, equipment and people, more than doubling the rated capacity. Is it safe and legal? Probably not. But as long as you watch out not to dip the nose, the boat is fine.

You're going to exceed the capacity. But, you have to get it weighed down.

I wakeboard at 21 mph. New folks I keep at 17-18.

How about no ballast! I don't like filling the ballast and then unfilling when I am ready to slalom. We just load a bunch of friends in the boat when we want to surf and keep them on the side you want to surf on. Set the Perfect Pass in the 8-10 mph range and we can surf just fine. That being said, I'm sure that it is possible to throw a bigger wake, but then again it is not our #1 watersport of choice so it works fine for us.
