05 is now the current x1
06 went to picklefork
07 added a newer tower design
08 added vdig and some new billet pieces and detail inside
09 added newer vinyl.

im sure there were some other sublte changes but the biggest changes was going to the pickefork hull in 2006

From 08 up, they also added a LED position light, and put in stainless cupholders.

Not sure if it was in 2007 or 2008 but the billet walk thru door is way cooler than the plastic one in my 2006. Maybe Santa can make one for me this year ...

my 08 has about a 26 gallon fuel tank while the 09 advertises a 40?? We eat through 26 gallons of fuel in no time.....too small.

The billet walk thru door happened in 07 as well as new prop, and new tower design (which need braces).

What everyone else has said except no one has mentioned the graphics. They were all new with the pickle fork design in 06 and went through to 07. New graphics in 08 through to 09.

Also the fly by wire system was implemented in all engines I believe in 06 or 07. 07 now has standard CAT converters on the MCX to reduce emmissions. Also in 06-07 new stainless exhaust flanges which changed in 08 to accomodate the fold down platform which is new as well.

I think that must be wrong???? All X2's I know of have at least a 40 gallon tank. My 07 does as well as a couple of 08's I looked at.

Mine reads empty around 26 gallons too, but clearly it does have the 40 gallon tank. They told me the fuel sender had a recall out on it, and replaced it....still reads empty around 26 gallons. From what I hear, no fuel gauge in boating history has worked properly:rolleyes:

Lift up the rear seat and check the fuel level...its fool proof.

Oh yeah, the exhaust. I think it goes like this:

06 black flapper
07 chrome tube
08+ chrome flapper

I was told the transom drain plug was also moved higher on the 07 model to accomidate the wake plate. I mention this as I've been looking into retro fitting one on my 07 X2 and was told by the dealer that had I had an 06 it wouldn't be possible.

True! Fuel, ballast gauges are never accurate!

Another difference- Bimini top is connected to top of the tower on 08 and 09s making it much higher thant he previous year models.

you sir, have been a great help. Honestly thought I had the smallest tank in x2 history. I will try a visual next time. I always run it to warning plus a little then fill it up to @ 26 gallons. The other day I put in 27 and thought wow I must be empty. I went and read specs and they say 40. that is good to know, thanks
