I have an '04 X10 with the 350 MCX engine. Never did figure out what this valve does. It's the one in the second picture. Looks like it came from the garden section at Home Depot.

If you have a heater, it's probably the hot water line shut off valve to the heater installed by someone.

That is where a heater or a hot shower would run I believe. Harold has your back!:D

Yup. That is the factory installed heater shut off valve.

Looks like my hose spigot shut off :confused: don't they use these h&c regulators anymore?

Fetzer valve........
Easily prepared with 3 in 1 and gauze pads.....and 10 quarts of anti-freeze......

They still use the hot and cold flow valves. They just use the hose spigot to stop the flow of water to the heater core during the summer/warmer months.

Should not affect the shower... depending on how your shower was plumbed. Should only affect the heater.

Yep, I have the same. If I turn this off, no hot air for my heater.

i have the same valve on my 190. i turn it off on the hot days. doesn't hurt anything, just no heat by your feet. thats the same thing i thought when i first saw it...did this come from the hardware store?...but i guess it came from MC, right?

Yes. It will just stop water flow to the heater core. No problem with that.
