I have a 2008 Prostar 190 with the LY6. I've just became aware of the fuel pump issue on the newer MC's. Does anyone know what year they got the issue fixed? I've intentionally ran my boat at 1/4 tank and less (better wake)! Do I need to worry?

Your owner's manual recommends NOT running your boat at 1/4 tank or less. Just sayin'....

With the stories on the board, I have refrained from running the boat past a 1/4 tank in my '07.

100 pounds of extra weight ain't going to make a difference at my level.

The weight doesn't matter much at my level for sure. Guess I better go fillr' up.

could this be why my low fuel warning comes on in my 08 X2 when i still have 1/4 of a tank left?

Or is it that the fuel gauge is about as accurate as the ballast gauges?

In your 08' you can set at what % of fuel remaining you want the alarm to go off. The adjustment is the the settings menu.

Even on 190/197's?

That makes two of us..... to avoid fuel pump problems I have not let it go down even near 1/4 tank. I fuel it up almost everytime I go out on it. I think once it went a little below half tank. Extra weight is good for a wakeboat.

I have it set to come on at 5% I think. My issue is that when VDIG display states low single digit percentage of fuel, e.g. 3%, I can only put 30 or so gallons in a 45 gallon tank...

I like it that way because i'm not burning up my fuel pump but still... the inaccuracies in both the gas and ballast tanks are a little annoying. I now run ballast in 'digital' mode... Empty or overflowing.... :)

MC Also issued a service bullitin on the Royce fuel senders on the 2008 Model. Corey is right, you can set it to sound, but only with models that have the VDIG

My fuel gauge is so inaccurate that I just lift the back seat to see the level. But if I use the gauge, I'll never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever burn out the fuel pump.
