What type of carb will a 1992 205 have 4010 or 4160? Would i beable to just swap out a 4160 from an older boat with the 4010 or vice versa? Both are ford 351's.

Bryan I am not certain which carb the 92 will have, but you can swap carbs. The fuel lines will be different between the two carbs, but from a bolt on perspective, no problem

If it's the 285 hp motor, it will have the 4010 (dual feed). If not, it will have the 4160 (single feed).

Either way, replace with 4160. If you previously had a 4010, you'll have to figure out how to replace the fuel line since skidim no longer sells the plug and play version. Flexible braided line would probably be the way I would go in that situation.

Call them and tell them the year of your boat and what you have and they will send you everything you need. There in SC and they have everything and anything for inboards.

I have a '93 with the 285hp. There is a lot of discussion about carbs on here and the issues. I looked up Holley on the internet and they have a factory re-build service. I pulled my carb on winter and sent it to them for re-build and re-calibration.

Got it back and it looked brand new but I new it was my carb because I marked it before I sent it away. They flow tested and set it perfectly. It was plug and play and I haven't had any trouble with it since. That was 3 years ago.

My '92 with the HO 285hp has the original 4010. I keep seeing on the board very one says to go to the 4160, but I'm not sure why. My boat runs great.

I suppose if I ever need to I'll switch it to the 4160 just to be popular. :D
